The Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden
'Finding Trewyn Studio was a sort of magic’, wrote Hepworth. ‘Here was a studio, a yard and garden where I could work in open air and space'. This sentiment continues still today, as the Barbara Hepworth Museum preserves and reflects the life and works of Hepworth, allowing visitors to see the studio and garden much as they were when she lived and worked there.
Bernard Leach Pottery & Museum
The Leach Pottery Museum is the original home and work place of the famous potter Bernard Leach. Explore the 100 year-old pottery, the clay room, the throwing room with kick wheels and the Japanese climbing kiln. Learn about the history of the pottery, as well as the many potters that have trained and worked at Leach Pottery. As well as all of this, there are also two exhibition spaces with a changing programme of exhibitions focusing on the pottery's history and the work of contemporary potters.
Tate St Ives
The hub of art for the art and artists of Cornwall, the Tate St Ives looks over Porthmeor beach and is home to modern work by British artists with links to the St Ives area. The perfect blend of inspiring art and stunning scenery meet at Tate St Ives, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Iconic art works by celebrated figures, including Sandra Blow, Peter Lanyon and Patrick Heron will show you the correlation between wider events in art history and artists associated with St Ives.
The Eden Project
Spend a day at Eden, where the indoor Biomes and gardens cover a vast 30 acres and take around four hours to explore. The Invisible Worlds Exhibition reveals the world beyond senses, exploring how life is shaped, and shapes, invisible systems. The indoor biomes will show you sights, scents and stories from both the Mediterranean and the Rainforest, with an accessible canopy walkway for stunning views over the biome. The Outdoor Gardens are home to 20-plant based exhibitions, colourful seasonal borders and art installations.
Padstow
Padstow is a traditional English harbour on the north coast of Cornwall. Named the UK's most luxurious place, the bustling town is an eclectic mix of fisherman's cottages and merchant's houses. Surrounded by glorious sandy beaches and natural beauty made up of a rugged coastline, there is an abundance of natural jewels to discover. Padstow is also a top foodie destination, majoring in fresh, locally produced dishes and celebrity chefs.
Lanhydrock House & Gardens NT
A spectacular Victorian country house and estate, Lanhydrock has lots of history waiting to be explored.
