Tour Summary

Visit the museums located in the Golden Triangle of Art, alongside dedicated excursions to Toledo and Ávila.

The Golden Triangle is the name given to the group of three art museums in Madrid located in the Paseo de Prado. The El Prado is one of the most important art galleries in the world, rich in paintings by European artists from 15th – 19th centuries. The Reina Sofia encapsulates 20th century and contemporary artists and the Thyssen-Bornemisza another great gallery of art from the 13th to the 20th century comprising of works of art collected by the family over seven decades. Dedicated excursions to the historic cities of Toledo and Ávila both offering a glimpse into medieval Spain.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01

Depart the UK and arrive into Madrid.Transfer from Madrid airport to your hotel in Madrid where you will be staying five nights. Check in at the hotel & enjoy a welcome meeting with the tour manager. Dinner will be held at the hotel this evening.

Day 02

After breakfast, you'll have a full day day excursion of Madrid. First in the morning you will do a panoramic tour: Paseo de la Castellana, Atocha Station, Plaza de Colón, Las Ventas Bullring... After some free time for lunch, you will visit El Prado Museum, one of the most famous museums in the world. After the visit, you'll have free time to discover the city at your own pace.

Day 03

After breakfast, depart on a full day excursion to medieval city of Avila, famous for its Roman walls and where you'll enjoy a tour on foot with an official guide. After the visit and free time to enjoy the local culinary delicacies of Avila, you return to our hotel in Madrid for time at leisure.

Day 04

After breakfast, enjoy a full day excursion to Toledo. First you will start with an official guided tour on foot of the historic centre. The local guide will give us a great insight into what is known as the "City of the Three Faiths", as in the medieval times Christianity, Judaism and the Islam lived side by side making Toledo very prosperous. Enjoy free time for lunch and an optional visit to the El Greco museum. In the afternoon you return to Madrid.

Day 05

After breakfast, you will explore the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. This museum showcases an exceptional and thoughtfully arranged collection, spanning from medieval art to contemporary works. Our guide will highlight its most iconic pieces and offer insights on how to best experience the museum. In the afternoon, you will conclude our cultural immersion with a mandatory visit to the Reina Sofía Museum, the third gem in the "Golden Mile". For your final evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 06

After a short journey of cultural highlights, we say adiós to the centre of Spain as you return to Madrid airport for your flight back to the UK.
