Sacromonte Caves Museum - Albaicin Tapas Tour - The Los Tarantos Caves - Flamenco Show
SACROMONTE CAVES MUSEUM - The Sacromonte Caves Museum is located in the Barranco de los Negros, in the Sacromonte district. It is very close to the historic Albaicin district, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In this museum ten caves have been recreated as they were 100 years ago, allowing visitors to learn about the living conditions and trades of its inhabitants. You can also learn about the origins of flamenco here, in the Sacromonte district. Sacromonte is the birthplace of Spanish flamenco, a dance created by Spain's gitano, or Romani, community. Many members of the community continue to live in the caves as a way to honour their culture. ALBAICIN TAPAS TOUR - Awaken your senses to the tantalizing taste of traditional tapas with visits to locally loved tapas bars and ambient bars. The Tapas Tour connects you with the unique atmosphere in this old, historically Arabic quarter of Granada. THE LOS TARANTOS CAVES - FLAMENCO SHOW The “Los Tarantos” caves were founded in 1972. Don José Martín Quesada and Doña Concepción Maya Maya bought a cave in the Granada neighborhood of Sacromonte, which would become the flamenco zambra “Cuevas Los Tarantos”. It soon became established as an important zambra, thanks to the quality of its show. Great figures of Granada flamenco have performed on its stages. For years the cave has been a school and springboard for dancers, guitarists and singers who have managed to make successful careers in the world of flamenco, with national and international recognition. Today the establishment has three different caves for flamenco shows, and every night "Cuevas Los Tarantos" offers its authentic Gypsy Zambra show, full of purity and feeling.
