Itinerary/Excursions

Day 01

Transfer from Madrid airport to The Hotel Ganivet in Madrid where we will be staying. Welcome meeting with the tour manager and check-in at the hotel. Dinner included at the hotel.

Day 02

Full day excursion of Madrid, first in the morning we will do a panoramic tour: Paseo de la Castellana, Atocha Station, Plaza de Colón, Las Ventas Bullring, after some free time for lunch you will visit El Prado Museum, one of the most famous museums in the world. After the visit you have free time to discover the city at your own pace. 

Day 03

Full day excursion to medieval city of Avila, famous for its Roman walls and where we'll enjoy a tour on foot with an official guide. After the visit, you have free time to enjoy the local culinary delicacies of Avila. Following on from this, you will return to your hotel in Madrid.

Day 04

Today we enjoy a full day excursion to Toledo. First we will start with an official guided tour on foot of the historic centre. Our guide local guide will give us a great insight into what is known as the "City of the Three Faiths", as in the medieval times Christianity, Judaism and the Islam lived side by side making Toledo very prosperous indeed but will also take us into the fine art museum with focuses especially on world famous artist “El Greco”. You have free time for lunch and in the afternoon you will return to Madrid. This evening you have dinner at the hotel.

Day 05

This morning we will be visiting the third of the museums in the “Golden Mile”: The Thyssen-Bornemisza. This space houses an excellent and very well laid out collection that ranges from medieval times up to contemporary works. Again, our guide will tell us about its most iconic pieces and how to make the most of the museum. The afternoon is free to further explore Madrid and to enjoy its culinary and shopping opportunities on our last night in Madrid.

Day 06

After a short journey of cultural highlights, you say Adiós to the centre of Spain as you return to Madrid airport for your flight back home.

The Hotel Ganivet, Madrid

Hotel Porcel Ganivet is ideally located near the Puerta del Toledo, an area with a beautifully authentic atmosphere and located near some of Madrid's most important sites, such as the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, the main museums, and the Plaza Mayor to name a few. The city centre can be explored from the hotel on foot by walking along charming roads.

The rooms are comfortable, equipped with everything you need to make your visit enjoyable. Each room is modern, with parquet flooring and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower.

A buffet breakfast is served each morning with a wide range of foods, and you can grab a bite to eat at the snack bar.

Make sure you take a moment to visit the sun terrace to savour the skyline of Madrid, or soak in the jacuzzi on the rooftop whilst admiring Madrid's sky, known for often being clear and blue.
