Witness the UK’s ultimate live action spectacular, where British history comes to life.

Travel to County Durham to join us on our 4-day historical tour, guiding you through the history of Britain. The tour begins with a visit to Beamish - an open-air museum where you can explore and venture through British towns from the 19^th and 20^th century. The following day, you’ll join a guided tour of the Auckland Palace – one of the best-preserved Bishop’s palaces in Europe. Learn about the Prince Bishops who resided here & visit their private chapel. Explore the Auckland Project independently, perhaps visiting the Faith Museum or Spanish Art Gallery before travelling to the tour finale – Kynren.

Itinerary/Excursions

Day 01

Arrive at the Park Head Hotel and settle in for the evening. Join the welcome dinner, where the Airedale Representative will discuss the itinerary for the tour.

Day 02

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing to Beamish - The Living Museum of the North. Enjoy a self-guided visit, exploring at your own pace. Return to the hotel for an enjoyable evening meal in the hotel.

Day 03

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before travelling to the Auckland Project in Bishop Auckland. Embark on a guided tour through the Palace, learning about the Bishop's who resided here. You have free time here to explore more of the Auckland Project at your own leisure - perhaps the Spanish Art Gallery or Faith Museum? Return to your hotel for dinner before travelling to the tour finale - Kynren.

Day 04

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and depart at your preferred time. We can offer recommendations for further places to visit in the local area if you wish to extend your stay in County Durham.
