Join the Mid-Essex Arts Society on their journey to Highgrove, exploring the wonderful region of the Cotswolds during this 5-day tour.

Choose a departure from Danbury or Chelmsford, or opt for our self-drive option* and join the Tour in Bristol.

Enjoy private group travel to fulfil the excursions of the tour.

*Please note, some of the excursions on Day 1 and Day 5 are en route during the journey from Essex to Bristol; the self-drive option may therefore not include all excursions. Please contact us to discuss this option further. 


Itinerary/Excursions

Day 1

Join the coach and begin the day with your journey to Greys Court, a charming National Trust estate with beautifully restored gardens, historic buildings and peaceful parkland. Afterwards, we continue our travels to the Mercure Bristol North The Grange Hotel, our base for the next four nights.

Day 2

After breakfast, we travel to Batsford Arboretum, home to one of Britain's finest collections of trees, shrubs and seasonal planting. In the afternoon,  continue to the picturesque market town of Tetbury, where you'll have free time to browse its independent shops, cafés and antiques before returning to the hotel.

Day 3

Today you will visit the magnificent Sudeley Castle, renowned for its rich royal history and award-winning gardens, before continuing to Hidcote Manor Garden, one of England's finest Arts and Crafts gardens, famous for its colourful garden rooms and inspired planting.

Day 4

Enjoy a leisurely morning before travelling to Highgrove House & Gardens, the private residence of King Charles III, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of its celebrated gardens, renowned for their imaginative design and exceptional horticulture. Lunch will also be provided during your visit. We return to the hotel for our final evening dinner at your hotel..

Day 5

After breakfast, begin your journey home with a visit to Hughenden Manor, the elegant former home of Victorian Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, surrounded by attractive gardens and woodland. Afterwards, we continue our homeward journey with a comfort stop before returning to Essex.
