Bateman's NT

Bateman's has an intriguing history, orgininally completed around 1634 for a prosperous ironmaster, it was then used as a farmhouse after the fall of the Sussex iron industry. Rudyard Kipling and his wife fell in love with the house in 1902, and he stayed there until his death in 1936. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk- ©National Trust Images/Sam Milling
