An enchanting city on the River Danube, with a kaleidoscope of architecture and much to be explored

Budapest has become hugely popular as a European city break in recent years, and with its magnificent history, architecture, and homemade cuisine it is easy to see why. This traditional Budapest tour will take you to traditional spots of culture, cuisine, history and beautiful surroundings.

Itinerary/Excursions

Day 01

Fly to Budapest, and check in to your hotel.

Day 02

After breakfast, be introduced to the wonderful city of Budapest with a half-day city tour. Carved through, and framed by the River Danube, Budapest's skyline and architecture are magnificently beautiful. Visit the Parliament, Budapest's most iconic building which is also the world's third largest parliament building.

Day 03

Today you will visit the Lazar Equestrian Park, where you will be greeted with a welcome drink and homemade scones. Founded by the 21-time world-champion carriage driver Lázár brothers, the horse show will introduce you to Hungarian equestrian traditions with spectacular tricks of the riders, carriage driving, and Queen Elizabeth’s performance in contemporary costume and riding in a side-saddle. Enjoy a homemade Hungarian lunch at the park, before heading to the Royal Palace in Gödöllő. Considered the Hungarian equivalent to the Palace of Versailles, and the second largest Baroque castle in the world, here you will find abundant gardens, paintings and history.

Day 04

Spend a day at leisure, exploring the city at your own pace. This evening you will enjoy dinner aboard a ship on the River Danube. Combine a cruise with live Hungarian folklore music entertainment, whilst taking in the views of illuminated Budapest from the river. Your dinner will consist of typical Hungarian delicacies, with a welcome drink and a choice of drink to accompany your meal.

Day 05

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport before boarding your flight home to the UK.
