Tour Summary

Trieste - Walking Tour - Miramere Castle
TRIESTE - Trieste is the capital city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in northeast Italy. A port city, it occupies a thin strip of land between the Adriatic coast and Slovenia’s border on the limestone-dominated Karst Plateau. Italian, Austro-Hungarian and Slovenian influences are all evident in its layout, which encompasses a medieval old city and a neoclassical Austrian quarter. WALKING TOUR - the walking tour will take you around all the main attractions in this beautiful city. MIRAMARE CASTLE - Known for its stunning architecture, lavish interiors and scenic park, Castello di Miramare is one of the more famous palaces in Trieste. It looks over the Gulf of Trieste, running out into the sea on top of a cliff. With its eclectic style and Istrian white stone, this is a very popular palace to visit in the city.

Ljubljana
LJUBLJANA - Ljubljana is Slovenia's capital and largest city. It's known for its university population and green spaces, including expansive Tivoli Park. The curving Ljubljanica River, lined in outdoor cafes, divides the city's old town from its commercial hub. Ljubljana has many museums, including the National Museum of Slovenia, displaying historic exhibitions, and the Museum of Modern Art, home to 20th-century Slovene paintings and sculptures.

Porec - Rovinj - Wine Tasting
POREC - Poreč is a popular summer resort on the coast of the Istrian Peninsula in western Croatia. In the historic old town, the 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica complex is famous for its gem-studded Byzantine mosaics. The coastline north and south of town draws visitors with camping areas, marinas and beaches with water sports. Some 6 km inland, the Baredine Cave is notable for its stalactite formations. ROVINJ - Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. South of the old town is Lone Bay, one of the area’s pebble beaches. The Rovinj archipelago’s 14 islands lie immediately off the mainland. WINE TASTING - A wine tasting tour will be arranged at a local vineyard.

Opatija - Krk - Olive Oil Tasting
OPATIJA - Opatija is a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic Sea. A fashionable resort in the 19th century, it's dotted with Habsburg-era villas. The Lungomare is a promenade that snakes along the coastline, offering views of the town and neighbouring islands. The 1800s Villa Angiolina, set in a garden of exotic plants, houses the Croatian Museum of Tourism. A crown jewel in a nation filled with coastal gems, it's said to be the very place where tourism began along the Croatian coast, yet it still offers many treasures for visitors today. Enjoy the majestic mansions, monuments, picturesque parks and alluring beaches, dining on mouthwatering Istrian cuisine in between. KRK – What the town of Krk is especially famous for is its impressive medieval heritage, which was created during the Venetian domination in this area. Of the 1185 Croatian islands, only one is referred to as the golden one, the Insula Aurea - the island of Krk. In ancient times, it earned the title of Golden Island due to the abundance of sunshine hours, and rich and fertile soil; today, you might hear some refer to it as the island of sunshine and wine. OLIVE OIL TASTING - A visit to the olive groves and an olive oil tasting will be arranged.
