Carnival & Lemons. When life gives you lemons create art!

Each year, the Carnaval de Nice attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. One of the most important carnivals in France, and one of the oldest in the world. The Carnaval de Nice and it's explosions of colour and laughter erupt whilst you admire the King, Queen, and their subjects. Nearby, the Lemon Festival in Menton is a feast of flamboyance with everything made of oranges and lemons.

Price is based on sharing a double or twin room. Single supplement £150.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrival

Fly from Heathrow Airport and take a private coach transfer to your hotel.

Day 02 - Carnaval de Nice

One of the oldest carnivals in the world, and the most important in France, the Carnaval de Nice attracts hundreds of thousands spectators every year. Lying on the French Riviera, the streets are full day and night with stalls selling provincial items, food, and gifts. From humble beginnings in the 13th century, the event in Nice has become a glorious, annual party. Experience the Flower Parade with brightly costumed models on flower-covered floats throwing blankets of flowers over the public, lining the route on the Promenade de Anglais. In the evening a spectacular Parade of Lights presents a night time version with fabulous music and entertainment. Please note that a standing place ticket is included. If you would like a seated ticket, please let us know and we can upgrade this for you (subject to supplement and availability).

Day 03 - Menton's Lemon Festival & Procession

Menton is just a 10 minute drive from the Italian border, and it is easy to spot the Italian influences in the town's architecture, influences, colours and cuisine. Unlike many of the pebble beaches on the French Riviera, here you will find a beautiful sandy beach. The abundance of citrus fruits, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, the quality of life, and delicious cuisine make Menton one of the loveliest hidden gems in France. Visit Menton's Lemon Festival, which has been attracting visitors since 1935, where 140 tonnes of citrus fruit are used to create fantastic works of art which parade along the promenade and in the town's parks. Don't miss the spectacular displays in the Jardin Biovès!

Day 04 - San Remo & the Ligurian Hinterland

San Remo is the oldest winter climatic spa on the Flower Riviera coast. Sumptuous parks, palm-lined promenades and elegant shopping streets characterise the chic town. Spend some time getting to know this beautiful town at your leisure. In the afternoon, travel to the Ligurian Hinterland, where the quiet of the landscape begins. Olive groves and vineyards are dotted around small towns, such as the medieval Dolceacqua where narrow streets, stairways and hidden corners lead to the seat of the Doria family, the castle complex high above the town. Visit an oil mill to learn all about olive oil, and enjoy a wine tasting with local snacks.

Day 05 - Departure

Transfer from your hotel to the airport, before boarding your flight back home.

This Diano Marina hotel is situated within 3.2 km away from Centro Storico di Cervo, while Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Rovere is approximately 15 minutes' stroll away. The city centre of Diano Marina can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity to Solarium, which is in 900 metres away. The hotel offers WiFi, 24-hour services, a swimming pool, sports activities, and even has it's own private beach! With air conditioning, free toiletries, a terrace, TV, and ironing facilities this hotel is a great place to stay when visiting the region. There is a lift to access rooms.
