Itinerary/Excursions

Day 01

Arrival at Porto Airport and transfer to your hotel in the centre of Porto. Check-in and free time for an early lunch, in the afternoon you will enjoy a walking guided tour in the historic centre of Porto to include such sites as Saô Bento train station with its 20.000 “azulejos” (ceramic tiles) or the spectacular neoclassic Palacio de la Bolsa (Stockmarket Palace). Hotel and dinner in Porto.

Day 02

Today you take a cruise up the beautiful Douro Valley. A magnifi cent boat trip to get to know one of the most famous routes in the Douro: the region between Porto and Régua. Enjoy a charming trip from Porto by coach and, from Régua, enjoy a relaxing Cruise to Porto. Once on board, enjoy a lunch specially prepared by our chefs. It will certainly be a fantastic trip down the Douro River! In the evening, a private transfer takes us back to our hotel in Porto.

Day 03

You start the day with an official guided tour of nearby Guimaraes, the first capital of Portugal. This historic city has lots to offers and we have included entries to the elegant Bragança Palace. After some free time for lunch you continue to Braga paying special attention to the Bom Jesus Church, from where we get excellent views. Hotel in Porto.  

Day 04

Today you are going to Aveiro, to see Portuguese Venice. You will visit the Carcavelos bridge, the Art Nouveau buildings and the Misericordia church. Free time to eat and then you will take the moliceiro boat route, passing through some of the most emblematic points of Aveiro, such as the Art Nouveau buildings on the banks of the canal, the Aveiro salt flats, the fishermen's quarter, the old Jerónimo ceramics factory. In the afternoon you return to your hotel in Porto.

Day 05

Today you say goodbye to Porto and make your way south. You stop at Coimbra for a guided tour and learn about the history of Portugal's oldest university and perhaps have a cup of coffee at the famous Santa Cruz café. You then continue to Lisbon where you will be staying the next three nights. Dinner at the hotel in Lisbon.

Day 06

An official guided tour awaits you in Lisbon this morning. This will include the downtown area by the River Tagus and then Monasterio de los Jeronimos in the Belem area. The afternoon is free to further explore at your own pace. Hotel in Lisbon.

Day 07

Your excursion today takes you to nearby Sintra, where you visit the grand Palacio Nacional in beautiful surroundings. We continue to the pleasant seaside town of Cascais .The afternoon is free to do your own thing in Lisbon, where your tour manager will be at hand with suggestions. Hotel in Lisbon

Day 08

Today you transfer to Lisbon Airport for your flight back to the UK.
