Leanne (Marketing Executive)

Isle of Wight

I have visited the Isle of Wight many times with my family while growing up, so it has always held a special place for me. There is so much to enjoy, from the lovely beaches such as Ryde to the quiet charm of villages like Shanklin. The island offers a relaxed atmosphere, while still giving you plenty to see if you feel like exploring.

Leannes top things to do in the Isle of Wight:

  • Relax on the beaches at Ryde and Shanklin

  • Visit the iconic Needles and Alum Bay

  • Explore charming villages like Godshill

Linda (Managing Director)

Clevedon

Growing up, we used to travel to Clevedon, a lovely Victorian town lying on the Severn Estuary, just to the north of Weston-super-Mare and close to Bristol. We would visit my grandma, whom I adored and stay with her for the six-week summer holiday, which was long, warm and wonderful. As children, climbing the rocks on the beach, searched the rock pools for crabs and  got stuck in the mud!

Linda's top things to do in Clevedon:

  • Stroll along Clevedon Pier and seafront

  • Explore the rocky beach and rock pools

  • Visit nearby Weston-super-Mare or Bristol

Steph (Operations and Sales Manager)

Whitby

After spending a weekend in Whitby with my family, I fell in love with the town. We started our mornings watching the beautiful sunrises over the harbour whilst enjoying breakfast. One of my favourite experiences was walking up the famous steps to the Abbey and also watching our dog Pablo playing on the beach.

Stephs top things to do in Whitby:

  • Visit Whitby Abbey

  • Walk the 199 steps

  • Explore the harbour

Yorkshire Dales

One of my favourite places to visit in England is the Yorkshire Dales. The scenery is beautiful, with rolling hills, limestone valleys and plenty of walking routes to explore. A particular highlight for me is the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, which takes you through woodland and past a series of impressive waterfalls. It’s a stunning place to visit and somewhere that holds a special memory for me too.

Emmas top things to do in the Yorkshire Dales:

  • Walk the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

  • Visit traditional villages like Grassington
  • Discover limestone caves and formations

What are the best places to visit in England?

Some of the best places to visit in England include a mix of coastal towns, historic cities, and scenic countryside. Whether you prefer exploring seaside destinations or discovering inland towns and cultural attractions, there is something to suit every type of traveller.

Many group tours are designed to offer a balance of these experiences, combining coast, countryside, and city highlights. England offers a wide variety of destinations to suit different interests, whether you’re looking for culture, nature, or traditional seaside escapes.

When is English Tourism Week?

English Tourism Week typically takes place each year in March and celebrates the importance of tourism across England.

It’s the perfect time to start planning group travel, as many destinations begin to open seasonal attractions and showcase the best of what England has to offer. Airedale Tours can help you organise a group trip during this period or later in the year, depending on your preferred travel dates.
