  • Itinerary/Excursions

    Day 01 - Arrive

    Transfer to the airport for your flight to Malaga. On arrival you will be met by your English speaking tour manager and transferred to your hotel in Salobrena.

    Day 02 - Salobrena

    A lovely walk along the coast to the Moorish village of Salobrena. The narrow winding streets take us up to the castle, from where we have stunning views of the Mediterranean and up to the Sierra Nevada. This is followed by tapas in selected local bars.

    Day 03 - Andalucian citrus farm

    In the morning we visit a citrus farm where we will get an insight into the production of this important fruit for the local economy. This will be followed by a paella washed down with local wine. In the afternoon we will drive to the El Chorro reservoir and enjoy the spectacular views and surroundings.

    Day 04 - Malaga

    The city of Malaga has really put itself on the map in the last years as a great destination. This morning you will take a panoramic tour of the city including great views from Mount Gibralfaro. An official guide will then give you an insight into the history of Malaga after which you will have free time to discover its bars and restaurants. Free afternoon.

    Day 05 - Sierra Nevada

    A full day excursion to the Alpujarra area of the Sierra Nevada. Las Alpujarras clings to the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada, deep, sheltered valleys and gorges which run down to the Mediterranean.

    Day 06 - Alpujarra area of the Sierra Nevada

    A full day excursion to the Alpujarra area of the Sierra Nevada. Las Alpujarras clings to the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada with deep, sheltered valleys and gorges which run down to the Mediterranean. The area is now famous for its ham curing and we will visit a ‘secadero de jamon’, where the hams are cured and have a taste. We then travel to the captivating little village of Capileira. In the local bodega we will have a taste of the regional wine and tapas.

    Day 07 - Street Market

    Street markets are still very important in Spain. Not only do they offer fresh produce, clothing, and kitchenware it is a gathering point for the locals who meet. There will be free time for lunch in this pleasant seaside town.

    Day 08 - Axarquia

    We will visit this beautiful area where the rolling hills are covered by parallel rows of olive trees. Spain has the largest olive production in the world and we shall be visiting one of the many olive mills in the area. Here, we will learn the process to produce olive oil. We then have lunch with the ‘local housewives’ who will cook a typical Andalusian meal giving an insight into Spanish lifestyle and cooking.

    Day 08 - Depart

    Transfer to Malaga airport for the journey home.
