Historic Bruges, West Flanders, and Romantic Lanes

Bruges, the capital of West Flanders is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings, romantic lanes, and corners to discover, where historic Bruges sleeps on.  Visit the Stadhuis City Hall, one of the finest in Belgium with the richly Pre-Raphaelite-Esque murals in the Gothic Hall painted by Albrecht & Juliaan Devriendt in 1895 and not forgetting The Groeningemuseum, a little gem containing Bruges’ premier art collection including luminous work by the 15thcentury Flemish Primitives (Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, Dirk Bouts, et al).

    Ostend

    Lying on the Belgian Coast, known for it's long beach and promenade, Ostend's attractions reflect its history and culture. Docked on the harbour, the Mercator is a 1930s ship transformed into a museum, displaying art from the Victorian period onwards. The neo-Gothic style Church of St. Peter and St. Paul has soaring spires and distinctive stained glass windows. 

    Ghent

    A prominent city-state in the Middle Ages, today it is a cultural hub. Known for its medeival architecture, such as the Gravensteen Castle and the Graslei.

    Brussels

    The lively city of Brussels is the largest muncipality and historical centre of the Brussels-Capital Region, as well as being the capital city of Belgium. With an abundance of attractions to visit, and being the World Capital of Chocolate, Brussels is a lovely city to visit.

    Ypres

    Surrounded by the Ypres Sailent battlefields, where many cemetries, memorials and war museums honour the battles that took place during World War I, Ypres is filled with history. Many buildings have been carefully recostructed after being destroyed in the war, including St. Martin's Cathedral and its soaring spire.
