Groups and Tours Manager
Jo joined Airedale in September 2010 and is one of the backbones of Airedale. Jo organises all the itineraries, excursions, coaches and liaises with our group organisers to ensure that their holiday runs smoothly. Jo also manages the day to day running of the office.
Prior to joining Airedale, Jo spent the last 13 years moving around Europe with her husband (who was in the Army) and two daughters. They have lived in Northern Ireland, Germany, Oxfordshire, London and, most recently, Cyprus. In her spare time Jo likes to read and go walking – whenever she can fit it in around her family’s busy schedule!
When I was nearly 21 I went to live in Germany for a year as part of my studies. It was the first time I had left these shores and it was the start of a thirst for travel. My first job was a campsite rep in the south of France back in 1994. Since then I enjoyed long stints in the coach holiday business, designing tours for the likes of Wallace Arnold. Then on a work trip to Switzerland's wonderful railways I had an 'eureka moment' for the next 12 years I designed rail holidays, both in the UK and Europe. I'm delighted to be involved at Airedale, a local company to me with a long history of great customer service. I'd love to help organise your next trip!
Field Sales Manager
Lesley joined Airedale Tours in May 2017, bringing over 15 years of experience within the Travel Industry. Lesley has been working within the Group Travel Market for over 4 years, in which she has built many strong relationships with Group Organisers/Hoteliers and Suppliers, where she strives to provide the best possible service as a whole.
Previously, Lesley was working overseas for 10 years, where the majority of her time was working as a Destination Manager for Thomas Cook. Within her allocated destination Lesley was wholly responsible for its smooth operation, from looking after thousands of passengers, to staff training, supplier relations and much, much more! There was certainly something different every day providing many challenges but more importantly providing the best possible service to the customers, which is always her No.1 priority. Lesley’s passion is travel, so be careful, she may be secretly joining your tour.
Although I am new to Airedale and also to the travel industry, having joined in September, I've worked in sales and customer services for many years, occasionally also helping exhibit at consumer shows, which is great fun. At Airedale I help with administration, sending rooming lists and updating our website. Like you I love going on holiday and finding new places so I'm hoping I can get more involved in your tours as they progress.
Airedale and I go back almost 20 years. My long-term partner David Kettell took over running the company back in 2000 along with one of the founders Tony Padgett, both are sadly no longer with us.
After serving as a shareholder and director for many years whilst bringing up our children and creating rather lovely art gallery, I stepped in last year to become much more involved. It is a company that truly gets under your skin, which it has, and with skills developed from previous roles in sales and customer service I am determined to build on Airedale’s great reputation with the help of my very friendly, experienced and dedicated team Jo, Lesley, Steph and Rob.
