Itinerary/Excursions

The Brecon Mountain Railway

Head along the “Heads of the Valleys” road to Pant Station for a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway through the beautiful scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Return to your hotel through the South Wales valleys, historically associated with coal, iron and steel. Yet they are a dramatically beautiful part of Wales for beyond the huddled terraced houses, steep-sided green hills lead to untouched mountain tops and peaceful open moorlands that have changed little over the centuries. Mumbles and The Gower

Heritage Centre

A full day excursion to Mumbles, also known as Oystermouth, where the tidal islets of Mumbles Head mark the start of the Gower Peninsula’s southern coast. From Mumbles we move on to the Gower Heritage Centre, a vibrant crafts and rural life museum based around a working 12th century watermill. After a tour of the mill and some time at leisure, a guided coach tour takes you around the beautiful Gower Peninsula, an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”.

Royal Mint Experience

Discover the people and events behind the coins in your pocket on a guided tour of the Royal Mint. Experience the sound and smells of glistening coins, hot off the press to the precision striking of over 700 coins a minute.
